First Nation Rap Dance

Posted by Lars Justinen (Quatsino, Canada) on 5 May 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Yesterday I took Stephen and Hannah to Port Hardy so they could join their friends from church and visit the carnival that was in town for 3 days. In front of one of the popular rides these very young first nation (the term used for natives or "Indians" in Canada) boys started to dance to the rap music that was just pounding loudly from the ride speakers. Naturally a crowd gathered to watch. Ah, the power of American culture.
